The service can be very good or you can get a crooked technician who provides bogus recommendations to replace parts. Just be careful when told you need to get a bunch of new parts since I know two people, including an elderly couple, who would have been swindled over $1000 to get new parts that weren't needed. When they took the car to another reputable repair shop, the mechanic hoisted the car up and showed that the parts were fine with a flashlight. On most occasions though, I've gotten appointments quickly and the service was efficient.

A deserving 5 star review, I don't give many of these so take heed people! Eric Brooks and Eddy Goldman, the two men who helped me ride off in a Toyota Highlander. Let me tell the story from the beginning... Started off this journey a month ago, scouring internet quotes from many dealerships across the bay area. Took many weeks of negotiation with each dealer to get to a sales price and lease payment that was at least somewhat palatable for the options and accessories that I wanted. Some started off with expensive unwanted accessories or sky high monthly lease payments. So I decided one day just to check out these dealerships on Yelp and that's where I found the highly rated Putnam Toyota. Went online and requested a quote and BAM, instantly one of my lowest quotes for the asking price. Eric was clear that this was his lowest price he could offer relative to the other dealerships it was in line with one of the lowest. I couldn't believe that it just took one email exchange to get to this level whereas it took weeks with the other places. Once at the dealership Eddy was very helpful as Eric was quite tied up with many customers. Didn't have the color the wife wanted so got a new quote on a different Highlander. I cross checked against Fremont Toyota and found that Eric had given me his lowest price he could offer again on the first shot but this time while I was at the dealership. That I could say from experience doesn't happen often, especially when you're physically at the dealership. I've had many poor experiences at auto dealerships, I find car salesmen to usually be very slimy, dirty, sneaky, and flat out liars. I usually feel dirty when leaving a dealer's lot. Only one other time, at DGDG's Capital Hyundai, have I felt good when buying a car. I felt great at Putnam Toyota. There was none of the, "the internet quote you got is no longer valid because of xxx reason and it's now $2k higher than what we quoted," or the "that was an old price that is no longer valid, didn't you know that our internet quotes are only good for xx hours?" Or the greatest, "that quote was only valid with xxx salesmen, he's not here today so we can't give you that price anymore." Needless to say I'm very impressed with Putnam. I will be coming back when I'm ready to get another car.

I've only been here once for far, for a free 15k scheduled maintenance on a Prius. I scheduled the appointment online, showed up on time, left my car, walked to downtown Burlingame to grab lunch, and they were done by the time I was heading back. No muss, no fuss. They have a pretty nice waiting area with an espresso machine.

Great place, great customer service, and none of the surliness you find at lower cost service centers. You know they care about customer service when you look at their complimentary breakfast area. They specially cover the free cream cheese they provide to their customers in the waiting area with a plastic case. These guys care about service!

I rarely write reviews, but I'm writing this in appreciation to the awesome service I received last month on 09/15 at Putnam Toyota, starting from the truly knowledgeable and super friendly sales person ABDUL ASALATI and ending with the cool Finance Manager DAVID PROCTOR. Both Abdul and David made my experience at Putnam Toyota just AWESOME. I knew exactly what I want to buy, but Abdul was the right person to give me a great deal. I'm very happy with my brand new 2016 4Runner SR5 Premium. Thanks to Abdul and David, and thanks to Putnam Toyota.
