Bought a Camry and worked with Victor. If your looking for a new car and you want an honest and knowledgeable salesman, work with Victor. Victor's approach was very consultative and transparent. I felt at ease and comfortable throughout the whole process knowing i was making the decisions and Victor was there to support me. Victor even called to check in after the sale to make sure I was satisfied with everything. You don't normally see salesmen doing these sorts of things. I was impressed and delighted to give my business to Putnam, specifically because of my experience with Victor. The process was easy and I felt like he took care of me and didn't have an agenda. If I ever have to buy another car, I'm going to try to work with Victor again.

I took my car to Punam Toyota in Burlingame this morning in order to have my gas pedal checked. They not only checked out the gas pedal but also washed my car and did not charge a penny!! I was recommended there by a friend who uses Putnam Toyota all the time.

Subsequent to my original posting, I actually received a message from the owner of the dealership following up on my original post, asking me to let him know the price that I was quoted, and providing the number of the customer service manager to follow-up with. It certainly helped my perception of the dealership that management took note of a customer problem and followed up with what seemed like a genuine desire to make it better. As I had already purchased a different car elsewhere, I can't report to how the subsequent interaction fared. That said, when I reported that back to the owner, he did follow-up again with an apology for the way things turned out and an olive branch to build a relationship from there. This certainly continued to enhance my view of Putnam. If the original purchase went through seemlessly, Putnam would have gotten 5 stars. If the issue was quickly remedied and I still completerd the transaction, they would have gotten 4. As I can't really comment on anything going through to finality, I can only given them 3 stars right now, but I certainly would no longer warn people to avoid them (as I would have a few days ago). Seems like it may have been some miscommunication.

I wanted to thank Victor Contreras and everyone else at Putnam Toyota for the wonderful service and assistance I received in the purchase of my first new car. Victor was a consummate professional, did a great job showing my car, and was generally a pleasure to do business with. He also speaks great Japanese! My family is very happy with our new car and are also glad to have a local dealership which we can rely on for service and repairs. With gas prices high and auto prices likely to rise, the Prius is a car that already pays for about 30% of itself. Go buy one from Victor Contreras at Putnam!

This dealership is truly a WINNER! I have worked in automotive retail and I wish more dealerships trained their sales staff to be as courteous, efficient and customer focused. I recently assisted my daughter, Kelly M., with working through a deal on a pre-owned Toyota Matrix and the salesman, Joseph, had the car in front and prepped for a test drive upon our arrival. With my sales background, I expected to have to deal with the usual high pressure tactics and antics. However, we found Joseph to be refreshingly knowledgeable about the product and focused on what we wanted to accomplish. The deal was completed in just over 2 hours and we were on our way. 2 days later, my daughter's Matrix overheated and she called Joseph. The next day, Joseph arranged to have her car towed from the East Bay to Putnam where the service department replaced the faulty thermostat as well as the water pump as a precautionary measure - all without my daughter purchasing a used vehicle service warranty! Kudos to Joseph and the management staff for ensuring that Kelly is COMPLETELY SATISFIED. I will always recommend Putnam and Joseph!

So for like the last five months my boyfriend has been not really driving his car. It's about to die. I, instead, have been his chauffeur. All I can say is THANK YOU to Victor for getting my boyfriend taken care of with so much kindness knowledge and expediency! It's so nice to buy a car in the town we live in and not only support our local businesses but also sales people. It was also refreshing to deal with such a great person who made the experience so easy! So thank you Victor! And thank god I don't have to drive my boyfriend to work anymore. He has his own brand new camry!
