I had a great experience at Putnam on multiple occasions. Kent - the service manager took great care of me. The Caltrain station is 2 minutes away, so I went up to the city for an hour, which was very convenient. My car came back fixed, clean and ahead of schedule. I highly recommend the entire team at Putnam! Dan
My wife and I purchased a new Fiat 500 from Dan Dishart and he was patient and informative. I would highly recommend you request him when going to Putnam Toyota. And, the car is amazing! Thanks Dan.
We bought a 2012 Prius from Putnam earlier this month. I must say we had a great experience working with Jeff Hershman. The process of buying a car has never been something I enjoyed, but Jeff was the opposite of any other car salesman I have encountered. He wasn't pushy, and never tried to steer us to another car. He was very pleasant to work with. There was no point where I felt uncomfortable, or that he way trying to oversell. I actually was planning on getting the care from another dealership that I had been speaking with, but I stopped at Putnam just out of doing my due diligence. I had seen many posts on craigslist from Jeff explaining how he works with his clients and decided to give him a try. I emailed him late Friday night, and he responded early Saturday morning. Putnam had the exact car we wanted in stock, so we never needed to go look around anywhere else. I definitely would recommend Jeff to anyone in need of a car, as well as Putnam. They did a great job making sure we were comfortable while waiting for all the paper work.
Since I left my previous review, I have been contacted by both Kent Putnam and the Manager Joe. It is very apparent that both Joe and Kent have very high standards for customer service, and unfortunately in my situation their employees simply did not live up to their expectations. They have apologized for my experience and have guaranteed from here on out I will only have the best service at Toyota Putnam. I very much appreciate the fact that they both contacted me directly to resolve the matter. Thanks Kent and Joe! I look forward to seeing you again.
Following my post I was contacted by Kent Putnam who resolved my issue. The initial problem had to do with the fact that Putnam didn't initially locate my extended warranty in their system and the estimated cost to repair the car didn't reflect the warranty coverage. With Kent's help, my warranty was located and it was determined that repairs were covered. My recommendation is to contact Kent directly if you have any issues. He addressed my concerns and was responsive in a way that only a business owner can be.
It's been about 3 years since I've had my car serviced here. From 2006 to 2009, they performed my oil change every 3 months (I purchased the auto care package when I bought my car from them). They did a fine job and their customer service was superb. The only reason I stopped coming was because 1) my auto care package was finished and 2) my mechanic can do it for cheaper and faster (30 min in and out). I decided to have my oil change here because I received an oil change coupon via email ($17.95 + tax). I also had to have a safety recall repair performed on my vehicle that I've been putting off for at least 4 months, if not longer. It was a breeze to schedule my appointment online. Someone actually called to confirm my appointment and the services requested in addition to receiving not one, but 3 confirmation emails. I had a 12:30pm appointment on a Friday and arrived 5 minutes early. I waited about 3 minutes in my car, but no service advisor came out to help. I could see 2 of them through the window (not with a customer) so I decided to go inside. As soon as I walked in, Ryan, the service advisor, apologized for the wait. He reconfirmed the services to be performed, had me sign some papers and said the wait would be about 2 hours. I hung out in the waiting room for about an hour before Ryan informed me my car was ready. They always overestimate the time, which is fine with me. There's free Wi-Fi, TV and a coffee machine in the waiting area. 3 years later, Putnam Toyota is still doing a great job and I'm still happy to bring my car here for service. However, I won't be bringing in my car for any major work. Dealerships are just too expensive. They used to wash my car after the oil change, but this time they didn't. Bummer. Must have been the cheap oil change or maybe they don't comp the car wash anymore?
