We were in the market to buy a used fuel efficient toyota. A friend recommended Dan Dishart at Putnam Toyota. We met with Dan and provided him with the details of what we were looking for. First off he showed us a Prius and then a Corolla. He provided us with all the advantages of a Prius as he said he owned one himself. Dan came across as a honest person. We decided on the Prius. They had to replace the serpentine belt and do some touch ups for which we had to bring the car in a week later. When I dropped the car off Dan informed me that they would not be able to do the touch ups on the same day. He picked up the car on a later date got the touch up done and dropped the car back within a few hours. Dan has been very responsive to any questions that we have had. If you are in the market for a used car - Dan is your person! Its been 2 months since we bought the car. Its been runing well.
We have been taking our Prius to Putnam Toyota for years because the service is so good and I worked near their location. They really had my trust so when it was time to shop for a second Prius my husband and I went back there. There were other dealerships closer to our home in the East Bay but the people at Putnam take an interest in their customers that encourages trust and an ongoing relationship. My husband has a bad back and needs head room and Lenny helped us in and out of car after car and on the second visit when he was with another client introduced us to Jeff Hershman who walked us around the inventory and helped us find a Prius V with lumbar driver seat and more head room. If you are making a major purchase, you need to trust the folks you are making the purchase from. Putnam Toyota is defiantly a five star dealership.
Just wanted to report the best car buying experience I ever had. After some research on the Internet, I knew what car, model and options I wanted and how much I should pay for it. At this point, I thought, the actual buying process should be very simple and straightforward. A tour through various Toyota dealerships near where I live (San Jose) convinced me otherwise - I had a variety of colorful and surprising, but also frustrating experiences. About to lose faith, I found Eric Brooks' ad on craigslist.org, and called him up at Putnam Toyota. Boy, what a breath of fresh air. Everything Eric said made sense and matched what I had found out in my research. Unlike other salespeople at other dealership who shall remain unnamed, Eric knows his business and the cars he sells, and seems to realize that building trust by being honest and straightforward is better for business long term than any sales tactic. We met, I test-drove the car, we agreed on a fair price, shook hands, and next day I showed up with the check, signed on the dotted line and picked up the car. Within 90 minutes, I was out the door. Great experience. I will go out of my way to buy my next car from Eric at Putnam Toyota.
Darren gave us a # 1 service. He replied all of our messages/calls right away and helped us do the research. Darren made buying car so much easier. We're very happy w/ the Tacoma. We love the dealer's coffee station.
I am happy to recommend Dan Dishart at Putnam Toyota. My husband and I arrived just before 8pm on a Monday night and although it was near closing time, Dan was willing to take two test drives with us, a 2011 Siena van and a 2011 Mazdz cx-9 ( I had tried to see used Mazda the day before at Putnam Mazda across the street but somehow the salesperson lost track of us and we ended up driving much older volvos which wasn't our plan...funny how that happens when car shopping.) We loved both cars and because my husband works crazy hours, we were ready to make a deal. Somehow the manager didn't realize Dan was still working because when we returned back from the test drives, no one was there to make the deal. Dan felt bad about it, but was able to put the Mazda aside for us until date next day. He even changed another appt. to accommodate my schedule. I felt so comfortable with Dan, that I didn't even have my husband to come help negotiate. I left with the car I wanted at a price I was happy with. I kept my last car for 12 years and hope to do the same with this one, but I wll surely recommend that my friends and family buy their next car from Dan. He hasn't been at the dealership long but as seen from this and other reviews, he is a true professional who makes the often hated car-buying experience much more pleasant.
I had my oil service here a few times, pretty good.. but prepare to wait for at least a couple hours (even you made an appointment and it's just an oil change). I guess that's normal for dealers. They have wifi and a cappuccino/espresso machine. No bad. They have some kind of shuttle service too... i don't know where they drop people off but the driver is here like every hour. The service advisers there are polite and pleasant. A plus! I know it's more important that the technicians are good, but sometimes it's just nice to talk to someone that actually smile.
