The check engine light came on in my 12-month-old Sienna. I looked for a local dealer service department that had an opening right away, since I didn't know if the car was safe to drive without knowing what was wrong. Putnam had an opening the next morning. I showed up at my appointment time and was taken care of right away by a very nice service department representative named Matt. I said they might as well do my 15,000 mile service while I was there, since it's free. I had three of my kids with me, and he understood that it was stressful for me to be waiting around and promised to get us taken care of as quickly as possible. He came to find me about an hour later. He said they were almost done with the 15,000 mile service and that something was wrong with my fuel/air ratio sensor, which is why the check engine light was on. It needed to be replaced, but they didn't have the part. They had already checked with other local dealerships and no one had one, so they would order it and it would be there the next morning. He assured me the car was safe to drive, but it would just use more gas than usual until they replaced the part. He said they'd make sure it was covered under warranty for me and that I could come back first thing the next morning or whenever was convenient for me. He said it shouldn't take more than an hour and a half to two hours and I'd be on my way. We set up an appointment for 9:30 the next morning. I arrived at 9:30. He was ready for me. I was done and on my way at 11:00 exactly, as promised. Everyone there was very friendly, helpful, and professional. The waiting area is small but well maintained and clean. They have free bagels and pastries, coffee, tea, and water, as well as vending machines for soda and snacks. There's a small area with a Lego table for kids (my kids loved it!). All-in-all, I feel that Putnam Toyota's service department is everything I would hope for. I have had bad experiences with poorly run service departments, ones that are too busy or lie about how much time things will take, and Putnam was nothing like that. They were great. I'll be back in 6 months for my next service, for sure!
