Over the years, my husband and I have purchased three Toyotas through Jeff Hershman. But I have to say that my most recent experience helping a grieving friend purchase the brand-new car of her dreams was over-the-top wonderful! My friend began considering a Prius C after an accident totaled her older Ford station wagon. She had never purchased a new car before -- her recently-deceased husband of 40-plus years was always in charge of buying their cars used -- so she worried that the dealer would take advantage of her inexperience. (2015 has been a horrible year for her!) She went to a different dealer (not Putnam) after an acquaintance offered her a "friends and family" discount there. But her acquaintance did not work in the sales department. Various salespeople kept passing her off between them. Many of her questions were ignored or, if they were addressed, she would get different answers to the same question from different people. She slept on her decision, called the dealership the next day to tell them which one she wanted, and said she would arrive that evening to purchase and drive off in her new car. She returned her rental car and I gave her a ride to the dealership. She was told it was just a matter of completing the paperwork. Three hours after we arrived, we had yet to see the car she had been promised was "in stock." The fifth salesperson she was working with finally admitted that it wasn't in stock and that they "weren't allowed to bring cars in from elsewhere at this time" because they needed to move what they already had. I told her we should leave and try again the next day elsewhere. I dropped her off at home, then went straight to Putnam's web site. There was her car -- configured exactly as she wanted it and in exactly the right color. I called Jeff Hershman as soon as Putnam opened the next morning and he quoted me the perfect price. Shortly after that, we were sitting at Jeff's desk finishing up the paperwork. She drove off in her first brand-new car with an enormous smile on her face. Thank you, Jeff (and Putnam!) for turning 2015 around for her! And we'll see you next year when it's time to replace our older Prius...
